Summary

New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu approved a religious speech ban on Bourbon Street. The law bars anyone from loitering or congregating for the purpose of discussing politics, religion or social issues between sunset and sunrise. A pastor who had spent more than 30 years sharing his faith without issue was told by police he could not continue his activities.
